You’ve arrived at the official website for La Maison, a quaint country French auberge located in the tiny colonial village of Coventryville, founded in 1717, a population of 23, situated in the northernmost reaches of Chester County, Southeastern Pennsylvania in the bucolic Philadelphia Countryside and just dripping rich with early American history.
La Maison is owned and operated by my wife, Janet, and myself and occupies the first floor of our home, a classic, colonial stone house that is nearly 300 years old. Inside, with its beautiful American Chestnut (now extinct) wood plank floors and hand hewn iron hardware, is an otherworldly space of intimate rooms, large fireplaces, warm hospitality and a generous weekly collection of offerings from a kitchen that is completely committed to serving that which is tied closely to the indisputable quality of the seasons, utilizing locally sourced, organically grown foods and to providing guests with a memorable experience in an easy, comfortable setting emulating the long standing traditions of the French countryside. Be sure to take the virtual “Tour of La Maison” by hitting the link at the top of this page!
Our “Cuisine du Marché” menu represents the very finest and freshest of the season and is presented “table d’hôte” in that it is designed in such a way that each offering prepared for the evening’s service is presented at table in an appropriate dish or tureen so that each of our guests can indulge themselves with as much or as little as they prefer of each and any of the items being offered for that day – and yes, you get it all!
Effective November 3, 2017, our 7 course Dinner, which includes a fish course and a meat course and served at 7 PM on Friday and Saturday will cost $115.00 per person – tax is included, but gratuity is additional.
Effective November 2, 2017, our very popular 4 course soup-centric Supper which is served on Thursdays at 7 PM will be $50.00 per person – tax included, again, gratuity would be additional.
You should also note that La Maison is a BYOB and does not accept credit/debit cards nor checks. All payment is made in cash.
